2020 Home Game Information & Procedures

To ensure that the season begins and continues in a safe manner, the Belconnen Cats community of players, coaches, managers, families, friends and spectators must all do their bit to ensure we stay COVID-Safe throughout the season. AFL Canberra have provided all Clubs with protocols and guidelines to be followed.

Match Day Protocols

AFL Canberra has developed a plan which will assist Clubs on match day - this applies to both our home and away games. This is outlined below:

  • Spectators – up to 100 per playing field. If this is exceeded, people will be encouraged to watch games from their cars (where possible).

  • Spectators – 1 parent per participant

  • Match times – Coaches and Managers will keep you updated of any changes.

  • Venue –Separate Entry & Exit points at all grounds is required.

  • map for Aranda is provided. We would appreciate if Cats families could lead by example and ensure you park and enter and exit at the appropriate places depending on where your child is playing.

  • Player arrival – no more than 30 minutes prior to game start time.

  • Player departure – within 15 minutes of game end.

  • Social distancing – please adhere to 1.5m/1-person 4m2.

  • Attendance register – a QR code will be available for attendees to scan and register their attendance. You will be encouraged to do this. Alternatively, a sign in sheet will be available.

We have made every effort to ensure we follow these guidelines and seek your support in helping this happen. If you are unsure about anything, look out for support staff at all venues and they will help you. Alternatively get in touch.

We want to assure the Cats & Junior Football Community that we are doing everything we can to ensure a safe environment for everyone. So, in addition to the existing hygiene and social distancing protocols in place, please comply with the following:

  • Anybody who has visited Victoria since 2 July or has attended any reported case locations in NSW during the dates and times identified are to stay away from all training sessions and matches and to follow the appropriate ACT Government health advice.

  • Only one parent/carer per player should attend matches and training session. The continued advice is: “ARRIVE, PLAY, LEAVE”

  • Please remember and observe the other rules: wash or sanitise hands regularly, do not share drinks or food, maintain social distancing, avoid non-essential contact, and stay away if you are sick or have flu-like symptoms.

Stay safe and enjoy the season!
