Appointment of 2022 Committee

It's that time of year again when footy is over with but we ask for you to think about contributing to our club for next season!

At Belconnen Cats, we are a club that is about community and providing a nurturing environment for our children to play AFL.  Without coaches we can’t field teams for your children to play in.  But more importantly, without a committee to administer the club we can’t provide an environment for Cats Junior AFL to exist.

Our current committee is largely made up of parents who have been contributing for many years, but their children are moving on.  It’s time for regeneration to ensure our wonderful club can continue to support our amazing families.

To fill the gap of departing committee members and fulfil all our obligations, we need more of our Cats community to step up.  Some of our most important roles are vacant – Vice President and Coaches’ Coordinator – which means those already on the committee are having to take on more responsibilities to get the job done.

The role of President and Treasurer are currently held by people who have been in these positions for at least three years and it’s time for others to contribute.   We would love to see more of our younger Cats families step into roles and provide input to the future of Belconnen Cats.

For 2022, incentives provided for committee participation will include a reimbursement of your first child’s registration.

Please come along and get involved with the running of our club either at an executive level or on the general committee. All members of current and past committees started with no experience except for a love of the game, the desire to assist their children participate in football at the Belconnen Cats and to support the local community.

All committee positions of the club are on a voluntary basis. If you have ideas and suggestions on how the club can provide the best possible environment for junior football, then now is time for you to step forward. You can find more information on position roles and responsibilities here.

If you cannot attend but would like to have your say you can also appoint a proxy for the purposes of voting at the meeting, please email Gemma Hansen, Secretary secretary@belconnencatsafl.com.au, to ask about this process or refer to club website for forms.

The agenda, proxy voting form and committee nomination form are available for your information or contact 2021 Belconnen Cats Junior AFL Club Secretary Gemma Hansen if you have any questions.

We are looking forward to many interested members attending and also new people joining the committee for a successful 2022 season.
